About this policy
This policy explains cookies and similar browser storage on mikesquestlog.com/, operated by Mike’s Quest Log. Contact Mikesquestlog@gmail.com with questions. Read our Privacy Policy for information about personal data. This policy does not cover the separate Print Quest game at play.mikesquestlog.com.
What cookies and local storage do
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Local storage also saves information on your device but usually has no automatic expiry. These technologies can remember settings, support features and measure website use. Some external services also receive technical information through network requests even when no cookie is stored.
Categories used on this website
- Necessary and functional: website delivery, security, administrator authentication and remembering consent choices. Administrator login cookies concern logged-in site administrators; visitors do not need an account.
- Statistics: Google Analytics measures visits, page use and interactions through Google Site Kit. Optional analytics cookies are subject to consent where required.
- External media: YouTube embeds and other remote content can contact their providers and use browser storage when loaded. Availability can depend on the consent settings.
- Affiliate referrals: retailer and affiliate-network cookies may be used after you follow a product link. Their purposes and lifetimes are controlled by those providers.
Cookie and storage examples
This is a description of the services and theme features in use, not an exhaustive browser-scan inventory. Actual entries vary with your consent, the pages you visit, whether you are logged in, and provider or browser changes.
- Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_… identify browsers and maintain session information. Google documents a default lifetime of two years, but site settings and browser restrictions can shorten it. See Google’s cookie documentation.
- Complianz: cmplz_… entries can remember banner status, policy version and category choices. Their expiry depends on the plugin configuration and can be inspected in your browser.
- WordPress administrator cookies: entries such as wordpress_logged_in_…, wordpress_sec_… and wp-settings-… support administrator sessions and settings. Their lifetime depends on the session and login choices.
- Loot Run local storage: mql-loot-found and mql-loot-best. The theme’s optional hidden game remembers discovery and the best score in your browser. These entries have no automatic expiry in the theme and remain until browser/site data is removed. They do not provide a cloud save.
Managing your choices
When the consent banner is available, use it to accept or reject optional categories. Reopen the consent settings control to change your selection. Necessary storage may remain enabled because it supports the site or records your choice.
You can view, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s site-data settings. Deleting data specifically for mikesquestlog.com/ avoids deleting data for unrelated websites, but can reset your consent choice and Loot Run records. Blocking storage or external content may affect some features.
Google Consent Mode may send limited cookieless measurements depending on configuration when analytics storage is denied. Rejecting optional cookies does not necessarily block every request to Google. You can also use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported.
Third-party websites and changes
Once you follow an affiliate or social link, the destination’s cookie and privacy policies apply. We may update this page when website features, providers or cookie settings change.
